Goodhue goes for gold!

Goodhue has been awarded the gold in the prestigious National Packaging Competition 2003 — for the packaging design of a new wine called Médaillon Saint-Grégoire, from Maison des Futailles.

This varietal wine will be sold in grocery stores, classified under VQC (Vins de Qualité Certifiée).

The objective was to convey the nobility of the land the wine is imported from — the papal state of Avignon in France. The solution was a branding strategy that guided the graphic design and name generation to create a prestigious brand bringing medieval times to mind.

The illustration chosen is a glimpse into the chivalry and heroism of the Middle Ages. The name, Médaillon Saint-Grégoire, represents an order intended to honour the citizens of the papal states, created in honour of Pope Saint Gregory (590-604). Combined, the graphic design and name give the product a character that is sacred, mythical and legendary.

This high-end wine, most worthy of the papal era, is sure to bring palatal pleasure to connoisseurs!
